The 26-year-old has explained that a player needs to have a big heart to succeed at the Buccaneers

Orlando Pirates midfielder Vincent Pule feels that he moved to the Soweto giants from Bidvest Wits at the right time.

Pule scored his third goa of the seasonl in his eighth league match during Pirates' 2-1 victory over Baroka at the Peter Mokaba Stadium last weekend.

The former African Warriors winger has since explained why he decided to leave the Clever Boys and join the Buccaneers.

"I think I came to Pirates at the right time. I came here to improve and to play for the club with a big heart," Pule said on Vodacom Soccer

Pule, who helped Wits win the 2016/17 PSL title, stated that he had to work hard in order to cement his place in the Bucs starting line-up.

The left-footed attacker is competing with the likes of Kudakwashe Mahachi, Thabo Qalinge and Luvuyo Memela for a place in Micho Sredojevic's team.

"I think Pirates is a big team and you must have a big heart to succeed here. I told myself that with talent alone, you will not go anywhere, but you have to work hard," he said.

Pule's exploits for the Buccaneers have not gone unnoticed as he was recently called up for the South Africa squad that faced Libya in the 2019 Africa Cup Nations (Afcon) qualifier in Durban earlier this month.

"You have to train hard and do extra work and I think that is what has worked for me. I also told myself to take the opportunity handed to me with both hands," he concluded.

Up next for Pirates is a league encounter against Golden Arrows next week.
