VIDEO: What the duck? Fowl pitch invasion can't save Ibrahimovic's LA Galaxy

Real Salt Lake’s MLS encounter with LA Galaxy had a rather unusual interlude, as security staff were left in a flap by a duck that had wandered onto the park.

As the home team prepared to take a corner with the score tied 11 after 32 minutes, the bird decided to take a closer gander at what all the fuss was about. It flew onto the field and showed a surprising turn of pace as it evaded marshals, with one particular dash down the wing impressive.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was one of the stars playing for the Galaxy at the time, is unlikely to have seen anything like it during his professional career.

It proved to be a fowl night for the visiting side, who were defeated 6-2.

The Galaxy had taken the lead in the first minute thanks to Jonathan dos Santos, but had been pegged back by Albert Rusnak by the time the duck invaded. Goals either side of half-time from Damir Kreillach and Jefferson Savarino put Real in command, while a three-strike burst in 10 minutes after the hour mark sealed the victory.

Victory allowed Real Salt Lake to fly to fourth in the Western Conference, while the Galaxy have dived to seventh and are in serious danger of missing the playoffs.
