U17 World Cup: India's Group A rivals USA defeated by Mali in practice game

The United States of America's U17 team, which is set to participate in the FIFA U17 World Cup in India this month, have tasted defeat in their practice game against Mali U17 on Saturday. 

The US team has been based in Abu Dhabi ahead of the tournament in India and locked horns with Mali in a closed doors friendly before flying to India. 

However, they were defeated 1-2 by the African team who will also be participating in the youth football extravaganza in the sub-continent.

USA's result will pose a certain amount of interest for Indian fans, given that the home team, participating in their first ever World Cup, will be facing the Americans in their tournament opener in New Delhi on October 6th. 

India, USA, Ghana and Colombia have all been drawn in Group A. The US team will be playing India and Ghana at New Delhi before travelling to Mumbai to tussle with Colombia.
