The Team of Choice is hoping to turn the corner against the Lions of the North whilst Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele look to send Abafana Bes'thende packing

Maritzburg United will be targeting Highlands Park's scalp when they meet in the Telkom Knockout at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday night.

The Team of Choice is yet to find their best form form which saw them assert themselves as one of the best teams in the previous campaign, and they will be banking on home ground advantage to send their visitors packing.

Fresh from a goalless draw against Cape Town City just before the recent Fifa international break, the Team of Choice has drawn four matches in the league but have registered a win over Bloemfontein Celtic as they remain unbeaten in their last five games.

In addition, this will be the first meeting between the two PSL sides in a cup fixture,

Meanwhile, the Lions of the North will also be gunning for a spot in the next round.

Coach Owen Da Gama's men are motivated by their 2-1 win over Chippa United in the league and will want to cause an upset.

With history not on their side in the tournament, Highlands Park have appeared once in this competition where they lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates in 2016 while Maritzburg were eliminated on penalties by Platinum Stars in this round last season.

In the other match which has now been rescheduled for later this evening, Baroka FC will welcome Golden Arrows as the two sides will battle it out for a quarter-final berth at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Under coach Wedson Nyirenda, Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele are out to erase their poor PSL run and will hope to progress in the competition.

The Limpopo-based side is fresh from a 0-0 draw against SuperSport United and are sitting 15th suggests a lacklustre start in the current season on their part.

The two sides previously met in the Nedbank Cup tournament and Baroka secured a 2-0 win in 2016.

But they have failed to bag a win in eight PSL matches and will target a win over a lukewarm Abafana Bes'thende outfit under the guidance of Clinton Larsen.

For the visitors, they will be motivated by their 1-0 win over Black Leopards in the league.

With Larsen having failed to do well this term , he will want to go further in the tournament after exiting the MTN8 in the last eight and his mission is to improve on last season's run where they lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates in the Last 16 of the tournament.
