Moloi has exceeded expectations since taking over from Dan Malesela, but he wants Chippa to compete in African competitions

Chippa United coach Teboho Moloi might be new in the coaching circles, but he already has big plans with his team over the the next two years.

The Orlando Pirates legend was the recipient for the PSL Coach of the Month for November after guiding to the Chilli Boys to 10 games unbeaten.

“It would mean the world to me to either finish the Premiership in third place or win the Nedbank Cup. That would automatically qualify the club for the Caf Confederation Cup,” Moloi told the media soon after being presented with the Coach of the Month award on Monday.

His objective is to revive the attractive brand of football they have become accustomed to over the last few seasons.

“It’s all about the end product - scoring goals. There is a place for shibobos and tsamayas in our game, but they have to be done at the right time. I want to bring the excitement back but at the same time get results,” Moloi said.

Playing on the continent remains the ultimate objective for Moloi because it’s the only viable platform where South African players can grow.

“People might think I’m too ambitious, or I think too highly of my players, but the way to develop as a player is to play in Africa. Playing on the continent with Chippa would mean everything to me. You can see what it does to a player. For me, this is the only way a South African player can grow. That is why I want to take Chippa into continental competitions,” Moloi concluded.
