Super-sub Maxwel Cornet wraps up Lyon win in six-goal thriller

Maxwel Cornet opened his French Ligue 1 goal account for the 2018-19 season as Lyon fought back to defeat Guingamp 4-2 at the Stade du Roudourou.

The 22-year-old replaced Moussa Dembele in the 83rd minute and immediately put the icing on the cake grabbing his side's fourth goal in the encounter.

Cornet, scorer of two goals across all competitions, has made seven league appearances for the Kids this term – all as substitutes.

Memphis Depay's brace and Houssem Aouar's lone goal in the second half helped Lyon fight back from a goal deficit in the early stages of the game to extend their unbeaten run to six matches across all competitions.

Despite the triumph, the Groupama Stadium outfit remain unmoved in the fourth spot with 24 points from 13 games.

Next on their schedule is a fixture against Saint-Etienne on November 23.
