Mamelodi Sundowns star Khama Billiat was reportedly robbed by armed men in Kyalami, north of Johannesburg, in the early hours of Tuesday.
The Sowetan reported that Billiat went to the nearest petrol station to replenish his prepaid electricity card when six men, armed with AK-47s, entered the store.
He was reportedly robbed of his wrist watch and walled before being ordered to lie down together with three other shoppers who were also inside the store.
The six gunmen then bombed the ATM whilst Billiat was lying on the floor, but the Sundowns attacker escaped unharmed.
Sundowns media officer Thulani Thuswa confirmed that the incident took place, and that everyone was relieved that the player is still alive.

“It’s very unfortunate and sad that such crimes occur in our country. We are very happy though that Khama is not injured or harmed in anyway,” he said.
“I spoke to him not so long ago and he is also happy to have escaped with his life,” said Thuswa.
Billiat is the second PSL player to be robbed at gunpoint this week.
