SportPesa have made good their threat to cut all sponsorship deals with a number of local entities after the gaming firm pulled out of the Sh500 million deal with Football Kenya Federation.

The online gaming giant is protesting the 35 percent tax imposed on all gaming income after they lost a court case challenging the government’s draconian law.

In a letter signed by the company's CEO, Ronald Karauri and addressed to FKF, SportPesa officially ended a half a billion two-year sponsorship entered with FKF last year.

“We refer to our letter dated June 2016. As earlier informed, please note that all contracts between us stand terminated as from December 31, 2017,” Karauri was quoted by the Standard.

Besides FKF deal, SportPesa also have sponsorship deals with Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards and Nakuru All-Stars.

Additionally, SportPesa also pays Harambee Stars coach Paul Put and Technical Director, Andrea Spiers salary estimated to be in the region of Sh3 million.
