La Liga will help Kenya set up football Academies, Goal has learnt.

The Kenyan Premier League Limited and their Spanish counterparts held a two-day meeting in Spain where the Kenyan delegation was challenged to improve standards of pitches in the country.

Goal understands that the Spanish league managers have committed to help KPL set up academies as part of the partnership between the two bodies. La Liga will second their coaches to Kenya to help train their counterparts and players.

“We have learnt a lot on how we can partner with them (La Liga) in terms of how they can help us set up academies where they will send their coaches and how we can be able to have better grounds because football starts with having better grounds,” KPL chairman, Daniel Aduda said.

“They have a lot of exposure. If we put in more effort then we will be able to get where these people (Spain) are."

The KPL delegation is currently in Spain with a select national team side KPL AllStars that will take on Sevilla Atletico in second friendly on Saturday.
