Batoto ba Mungu coach Sam Ssimbwa cautions his charges against underrating K.Sharks in a league match set for Saturday

Sofapaka coach Sam Ssimbwa has warned his charges against underrating newbies Kariobangi Sharks when they battle in a league match on Saturday.

Sharks are in a good run of form having won three consecutive matches against Sony Sugar (2-0), Mathare United 2-1 and Bandari 1-0 – a trend that has caught the eye of Batoto ba Mungu tactician ahead of their clash at Narok Stadium. “We must be very careful against Sharks. They seem to be a team on the up and are not keen to lose now.

“I have cautioned my players against underrating them. This league is very competitive and for a team like Sharks, who earned promotion just the other day to collect nine points on the trot, means they should be handled with care. We must play as a unit, defend together and attack together,” Ssimbwa told Goal.

The Ugandan tactician insists Sofapaka will also be seeking to secure their second straight victory having downed Chemelil Sugar by a solitary goal in their last assignment. “Look…we also want to have consistency in this league. We want to win our matches and against Sharks, we need a win. We will strive to win because that is the only way you can show your seriousness towards winning the title.”

Kenyan Premier League will enter round twelve this weekend with a total nine matches lined up across the country. On Saturday, Muhoroni Youth will host Nzoia Sugar, Kakamega Homeboyz will come up against a wounded AFC Leopards in a derby, Zoo Kericho entertain Bandari at Kericho Green Stadium and Nakumatt battle  against Chemelil Sugar.
