The Blues forward has completed a move to the North African club after turning down an offer from Kuwait

Ghana striker Stephen Sarfo has joined Egyptian top-flight Smouha FC from Berekum Chelsea in a three-year deal, both clubs have confirmed.

The 25-year-old was close to signing for Kuwaiti club Al Qadsia, alongside Gideon Waja and Felix Addo following a successful medical but the deal fell through due to disagreement on personal terms.

Sarfo admitted his delight after he was unveiled to the media and believes he will be a success with the right support.

"I'm finally settled and happy. There were lots of offers coming in after the season and I think my agent has done a good job for me," Sarfo told Goal.

"I'm happy to be in Egypt and hope to continue the good work many Ghanaians did here in the past. It is a new challenge but I'm ready for it and hope to have the support of everyone so that I can succeed," he added.

Sarfo scored 15 goals last season to finish as the second topscorer in the Ghana Premier League behind eventual winner Hans Kwofie, who netted 17 goals.

However, he won the goal king award in the 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations after scoring four times to help Ghana successfully retain the trophy.

Goal understands that Sarfo's move cost Smouha $250,000 and the amount is expected to be paid in two tranches.
