There seems to be no end in sight to the saga involving Tendai Ndoro’s eligibility after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) revealed their decision to appeal the South Gauteng High Court ruling on Thursday.
Earlier in the week, Ajax Cape Town were given a massive boost as Judge Fisher reinstated the Urban Warriors’ 15th place finish, pending a decision by Fifa’s Player Status Committee.
This has not set well with the country’s football authority, who initially, in conjunction with the South African Football Association (Safa) found Ajax guilty of fielding an ineligible player.
This invariably led to the Cape Town-based outfit’s automatic relegation as they suffered a points deduction.
However, the PSL are not about to give up without a fight, and following and executive committee meeting that took place at the league’s head office, in Johannesburg, PSL chairman Dr Irvin Khoza confirmed their next point of action.

“We arrived at a conclusion that the judgement that was handed down must be appealed,” Khoza was quoted as saying by IOL.
“The facts and the details (of why we are appealing) must be referred to the Board of Governors who will convene an emergency meeting next week (on Thursday)," he added.
"They will then ratify that decision," he continued.
"We will ask for the indulgence of the media and the public to first give the Board of Governors a chance to evaluate the reasons we have provided as to why we haven’t opted for the directive as prescribed by the judgement but we are appealing the matter,” he reacted.
"It’s only on Thursday, after giving the reasons to the Board of Governors will we release the reasons to the greater public – the fans, sponsors, Safa and everyone affected by the matter,” he explained.
There has been concern by many that the continuous court battles could potentially hamper the start of the new season, but Khoza is adamant that the league will do everything in their power to avoid such a scenario.
“What is important is that we are trying to address the matter as a matter of extreme emergency so that it doesn’t affect the start of the season,” Khoza said.
“We are working towards the league starting on time,” he expressed.
“In life there are no certainties. That’s why next week we are having an extra-ordinary Board of Governors meeting,” the ‘Iron Duke’ concluded.
