President Kenyatta bails out Gor Mahia with air tickets for trip to face USM Alger

President Uhuru Kenyatta has purchased air tickets for Gor Mahia ahead of the forthcoming trip to Algeria for the Caf Confederation Cup match.

K’Ogalo are set to take on USM Alger in the final Group D match on Wednesday and will now depart for Algeria on Monday.

On Tuesday, Goal exclusively reported that K'Ogalo were still waiting for a word from the government on whether they will purchase tickets for the travelling contingent as requested on their behalf by Football Kenya Federation.

Gor Mahia CEO has now confirmed that President Kenyatta has chipped in with tickets for the trip. “On behalf of Gor Mahia, I want to sincerly thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for sponsoring our team with 30 air tickets for Algeria trip.

"This follows the request we put to the government earlier this week,” Aduda told Goal.

Gor Mahia are top of the Group with eight points and will need a win against USM Alger to be assured of a place in the quarters of the competition.
