Patosi wants to help Cape Town City win trophies before returning to Europe

Patosi lauds City’s lofty ambitions and believes they are on track to become a force in the country

Cape Town City's attacking midfielder Ayanda Patosi says they aim to become a force to be reckon with in the country, and hopes for a return to Europe despite recently returning home.

Cape Town City are an ambitious team and, with them, I see myself going back to Europe in the future,” Patosi told Cape Times.

The Citizens are keen to build on their last season’s impressive displays with the addition of esteem players like Patosi and Teko Modise among others.

“This team means business. They are aiming to become one of the best in the country, and I want to help them achieve it,” Patosi said.

For Patosi, it’s his aim to help them annex more titles next season after walking away with the Telkom Knockout Cup last season in addition to their third place finish on the Premiership log.

“City almost won the league last season. So, my aim is to win the league with them or help the team get more cups,” Patosi said.

Having returned from Europe following his stint with Belgium’s Sporting Lokeren, City will bank on their high-profile signing to lift them to even higher next term.

“In Europe, I learned to be hard on myself and to get into the mentality of working hard,” the 24-year-old said.
