Orlando Pirates defender Ayanda Gcaba says he is not aware that he attracted interest from PSL clubs a few months ago.

The 31-year-old player was linked with several clubs including Lamontville Golden Arrows during the January 2017 Transfer Window period.

Gcaba had battled for regular game time at Pirates in the first round of the current 2016/17 campaign.

"I do not know that other teams were looking for me," Gcaba told the media.

"Be that as it may, I kept working hard while I was not playing. It is nothing new to me," the towering defender continued.

The left-footed defender is now enjoying regular game time under Bucs coach Kjell Jonevret, who was appointed in February 2017.

"We were low on confidence as a team (before the new coach arrived)," he added.

"But we just worked hard in training to get back into a good space as a collective," the former Free State Stars player indicated.

"We have to get into the top eight and get as far as we can in the Nedbank Cup. This is the reality at the moment," he concluded.
