Ola Aina first career goal helps Hull City past Blackburn Rovers in FA Cup

Ola Aina scored the match-winning goal as Hull City defeated Blackburn Rovers 1-0 in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday at Ewood Park.

After losing to Bolton Wanderers in Monday’s English Championship encounter, the wing-back was on hand to help his side bounce back with his second-half effort.

The Nigeria international broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when he headed home Jon Toral's corner which was enough to guarantee Nigel Adkins’ men passage to the next round of the competition.

Aina has been an integral part of the Yorkshire outfit since he teamed up with them on loan from Chelsea in the summer, helping them to five clean sheets in his 25 appearances across all competitions.

The goal was the first in his professional career and he will shift focus to posting a similar display when Hull welcome Reading to the KCOM Stadium on January 13 for their next English Championship encounter.
