Okonkwo: Enyimba were wasteful against Shooting Stars

Enyimba ’s Chinonso Okonkwo rues their profligacy against Shooting Stars which led to Sunday's loss in Ibadan.

The Oluyole Warriors won the tie 1-0 through Abayomi Adebayo’s eighth minute effort. And Okonkwo believes that they could have turned the game around had they converted some of the chances that came their way.

“It was a painful loss because all we did to equaliser didn’t work,” Okonkwo told Goal .

"They scored an early goal and we were expected to react immediately. We tried our best to reply almost immediately but it was difficult.

"They had amazing fans rooting for them and all our attempts were repelled by their determined defenders. We must go back home and think of what we must do to correct the mistakes we had in Ibadan before the weekend game."

Enyimba who are still fourth in the league table despite the loss have 47 points from 31 games and they host Kano Pillars this weekend in another interesting league matchup.
