It is now official that Harambee Stars will grace the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
This is after Caf confirmed the disqualification of Sierra Leone from the ongoing Afcon qualifiers, affirming Kenya’s participating in the finals, whose host is yet to be known after Cameroon were stripped of the hosting rights.
“The Caf Executive Committee at its meeting on Friday, November 30, 2018, in Accra decided on the case of Sierra Leone in the 2019 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
“Sierra Leone is disqualified from the qualifiers and all its matches are annulled,” the continental body confirmed in a statement.
As it stands, Kenya, who still have one game against Ghana, are top of the Group F with seven points, followed by the Black Stars and Ethiopia with six and one point respectively.
Stars will face Ghana in March 2019 in their final match of the qualifiers, ahead of the continental showpiece which they last graced in 2004.
