Four-time Nigeria Professional Football League winners Kano Pillars confront Gombe United in a friendly following their resumption from a World Cup break, a club official has disclosed.

The Kano-based side are in the strong fight for the Nigeria topflight title, having stayed unbeaten in their last seven matches before heading to the break and sit in the third position with 38 points.

Club’s media officer Idris Malikawa confirmed that the warm-up game will take place on Saturday, July 14, at the Sani Abacha Stadium as their only test-match upon resuming training after a three-week holiday.

Coach Ibrahim Musa will be relying on the friendly with Gombe United to put his side in shape ahead of next week’s top-flight encounter with strugglers El Kanemi Warriors before champions Plateau United.
