Penang suffered a third straight Super League defeat, going down 1-2 to Felda United in a match delayed by poor weather

Felda United bounced back from their midweek disappointment to gain all three points against Penang at the Batu Kawan Stadium against Penang to wipe out the memory of previous defeat to the same side.

The start for this Sunday night Super League encounter had to be delayed for an hour after heavy rain forced the match officials to push the kick off from 9pm to 10pm.

Penang's Zainal Abidin Hassan could only field one import player in Nigel Dabinyaba but Felda's B. Sathianathan was able to call upon Zah Rahan Krangar, Gaston Cellerino, Lucas Cano and Mootaz Junaidi - making it a big disadvantage to the home side before a ball has even been kicked.

It was no surprise when Felda took the lead in the 17th minute of the match. Cano coming up with the goods, adding another goal to the four that he has already garnered in the league season thus far.

Penang came out after the break looking to get themselves back into the game and they did just that through Nigel Dabinyaba. The forward's strike in the 54th minute of the match was only Penang's 8th league goal scored in the entire season.

However, the drenched home fans would ultimately go home bitterly disappointment when Norshahrul Idlan came with the winner for Felda, a minute before the end of normal time.

The win jumped Felda up two spots from 8th to 6th in the league standings. While Penang remained firmly rooted in last place, five points away from safety.

Happiness for Sathianathan and his side who put aside their AFC Cup exit behind them and can now concentrate on the league as well as improving his squad in the upcoming transfer window.

As for Penang, the transfer window opportunity is huge for them if they want to stay in the Super League. Results thus far hasn't showed that Zainal's appointment is the right one but the former Pahang man will at least have a chance to bring in the players he wants to give it a right go.
