Bosso upbeat on NPFL title despite El Kanemi defeat

The Desert Warriors gaffer insists his side is still in the frame to clinch the Nigerian league diadem

El Kanemi Warriors coach Ladan Bosso insists his side can still clinch the Nigeria Professional Football League title despite bowing 1-0 against Sunshine Stars.
Having lost 2-1 against Nasarawa United, the Desert Warriors' hope of picking a point was busted by Sikiru Alimi's first half strike at the Dipo Dina Stadium on Sunday.

However, the former Kano Pillars gaffer hailed the match officials and Duke Udi's men for their good display and assures his side will make the best of its final seven games.
"I must give kudos to the match officials. They did well. This is one of the best of officiating I’ve seen so far," Bosso told media.
"Congratulations to Sunshine Stars. In a match, the home team's goalkeeper emerges the man of the match. You can guess what it means.
"Over the years, people think to get an away point is always very difficult but if you can attack all through - you can possibly get something. But I still give kudos to Sunshine goalkeeper. He was really at his best.
"No hope is lost yet. Winning the [top-flight league] title is still a realistic target because we still have seven matches to go. You know the strength of our team. Though we played very well the lucky side won.
"We played very well because we came here early enough immediately after our game in Lafia and rested. And that has always been the bond within my team and our positive results. If we can just plan early and travel comfortably for our away games, we will always suffer our home teams.
"I told my players after the game that Sunshine Stars should forget their position because they are a team to reckon with. They have more mature players individually than us but what we have over them is the tactical edge. I give kudos to the coach. He tried to manage the game so as to come out with the 1-0 win."
