Nigeria’s Hope Akpan revels in Burton Albion’s win

Nigeria’s Hope Akpan is pleased with his goal helped Burton Albion silence Leicester City 2-1 in a pre-season game.

The forward was quick to breach the defence of the Foxes before the half-hour mark, to register the first goal of the encounter.

Lucas Akin sealed victory for Nigel Clough’s men after his 29th-minute strike beat Stephen Bywater.

The attacker who made his switch from League one side, Blackburn Rovers in July scored a goal in his 25 appearances Rovers last season. 

Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi were other Nigerians on parade for the encounter.
