Golden Arrows eased into the Last 16 of the Nedbank Cup, while Cape Town City were stunned by minnows Acornbush United away from home on Sunday

Abafana Besthende  scored three first half goals to advance to the Last 16 of this year's competitions with a comfortable 3-1 win over their KZN rivals.

Sibusiso Sibeko, Lerato Lamola and Kudakwashe Mahachi all found the back of the net for Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium, while Maritzburg United's consolation goal was scored by Lebogang Maboe.

This was Arrows' second win over the Team of Choice in as many weeks for Arrows having beaten them 1-0 in the league at the sane venue last week Saturday.

The biggest upset of the day came at the Kabokweni Stadium where Cape Town City suffered a 1-0 defeat to Acornbush United.

Eric Tinkler made changes ahead of the encounter, but still fielded a team good enough to win at any given day.

The likes of Shu-Aib Walters, Aubrey Ngoma and Lehlohonolo Majoro were all rested, but the team still had enough quality to see off Accornbush.

The result saw Cape Town City join neighbours Ajax Cape Town as the only two PSL sides to lose to lower league clubs so far in the competition.
