Gor Mahia remained on top of Kenyan Premier League table after they edged out Nakumatt 1-0 on Wednesday.

Rwandan Jacques Tuyisenge scored his first goal in Gor Mahia shirt this season to extend K’Ogalo’s lead at the top of Kenyan Premier League standing.

Gor Mahia are comfortably perched top with 34 points after completing a double against Nakumatt whom they beat 2-0 last weekend. Tuyisenge gave Gor Mahia the lead in the 11th minute to extend Coach Dylan Kerr’s stats to two wins in two matches since he resumed office last July.

Tuyisenge put the ball past Nakumatt goalkeeper Sammy Okinda after connecting a Godfrey Walusimbi cross from the left flank. The slim win saw Gor Mahia dislodge Posta Rangers at the summit. Posta also forced a slim 1-0 scoreline against league defending champions, Tusker FC at Kinoru Stadium in Embu County.

Nakumatt suffered a double tragedy when Clinton Kisiavuki was pulled out with an injury. He was replaced by Edmond Murai but even the fresh legs could not save Nakumatt from going down to Gor Mahia for a second time in three days.

Coach Kerr registered his first league win against the Shoppers last Sunday at the same venue.
