Michel Salgado resumes duty as Egypt assistant coach

The former Spain international has commenced work as part of the Pharaoh’s technical crew as they prepare for Saturday’s Afcon qualifier

Former Spain and Real Madrid defender, Michel Salgado has officially begun work as assistant coach of Egypt’s national team.

The 42-year-old was announced by the Egyptian Football Association as Pharaoh’s third assistant to Javier Aguirre alongside Tito Sanjuan and Hani Ramzi.

The north Africans commenced preparations for Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations against Group J opponents Niger Republic billed for Borg El Arab Stadium, Alexandria.

Egypt made a defective start enroute Cameroon 2019 losing 1-0 to arch-rivals Tunisia in Rades with Taha Khenissi getting the lone goal.

They have also failed to win any of their last nine games since defeating Congo 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier on October 8, 2017.
