The Red Devils kept their top-four hopes intact by drawing with rivals Manchester City but now face a side fighting desperately to survive the drop

Manchester United face another quick turnaround this weekend when they take on Swansea City three days after their draw with Manchester City.

The Red Devils have had to contend with Europa League matches all season and played an unusual Thursday night match in the Premier League against their rivals this week.

There will be little time to rest for them as their schedule continues to pile up, and they face a Swans side desperate for any points they can get to boost their survival bid.

SQUADS & TEAM NEWS

Position Man Utd players
Goalkeepers De Gea, Romero
Defenders Blind, Shaw, Valencia, Darmian, Bailly, Tuanzebe
Midfielders Carrick, Young, Herrera, Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Pogba
Forwards Martial, Rooney, Rashford

There appears little chance of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones speeding up their returns despite Jose Mourinho's public insistence they should do so, while Marcos Rojo and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are also out at the back.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out for the season and Juan Mata may not play again before the end of the campaign. Paul Pogba will be a doubt again after missing the derby with a hamstring problem and Marouane Fellaini is suspended.

Position Swansea players
Goalkeepers Fabianski, Nordfeldt, Tremmel
Defenders Amat, Naughton, Fernandez, Van der Hoorn, Mawson, Kingsley, Olsson
Midfielders Ki, Britton, Montero, Sigurdsson, Cork, Fulton, Fer, Narsingh, Carroll
Forwards Llorente, Borja, McBurnie, Ayew

Swansea hope Leroy Fer (dead leg), Martin Olsson (hamstring) and Jack Cork (ankle) will all be available after returning to training, meaning their only definite absentees are Wayne Routledge, Nathan Dyer and Angel Rangel.

Marcus Rashford is the 4/1 favourite to score first, with Wayne Rooney and Henrikh Mkhitaryan rated at 5/1. Fernando Llorente is the top choice for the visitors at 11/1.

GAME PREVIEW

Marouane Fellaini Manchester United Premier League

The Manchester derby was going well enough for a depleted United side until Marouane Fellaini's act of stupidity.

It came late enough in the game that the Red Devils left the Etihad Stadium unscathed, but with Paul Pogba's status in doubt and Ander Herrera playing despite being substituted with an ankle problem last weekend, the overall timing of the Belgian's red card and subsequent suspension could not have been much worse.

His absence will likely mean either shifting Henrikh Mkhitaryan or Wayne Rooney into more of a central-midfield role against Swansea City, while Herrera and Michael Carrick will be leaned upon unless Pogba is ready to return.

An inability to rotate is not good news for Jose Mourinho, who still has two routes to the Champions League open - though neither will be easy to navigate - but may find that each is the biggest threat to the other.

United travel to Spain after this to face Celta Vigo in another challenging week, and Paul Clement will be demanding that his relegation-threatened Swans pounce on any signs of weakness they show at Old Trafford on Sunday.
