Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is ‘phenomenal’ – Robbie Keane

Former Liverpool forward Robbie Keane has showered encomium on Mohamed Salah, calling him ‘phenomenal’ following his impressive form since he departed Chelsea.

The 26-year-old failed to blossom after joining the Stamford Bridge side from Basel in 2014 and had to leave for Italy where he resurrected his career playing for Fiorentina and Roma.

Last season, the forward continued the imposing form in his debut campaign with the Anfield outfit, scoring 44 goals across all competitions and winning the Premier League Golden Boot, PFA Player of the year among other individual awards.

On Sunday, the Egypt international was on target to help the Reds to a 4-0 victory over West Ham United in their opening league game.

The 38-year-old, pleased with Salah's performance so far, believes the Reds' style of play helped the forward to continue the outstanding display.

“The fact that Salah went to Italy and was able to shine with both Fiorentina and Roma and then come back to England and produce the performances he did with Liverpool, it’s just phenomenal,” Keane told Pyramids TV as per Kingfut.

“He [Salah] kept looking for a chance to show his qualities as a player and he certainly found it at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp. The way they play definitely suits his style.”

Salah will be hoping to continue the blistering form when Liverpool take on Crystal Palace in their next league game on August 20.
