Mpoku refuses to join Revolution


Standard Liege winger Paul-Jose Mpoku has refused to join the New England Revolution, reports Het Nieuwsblad.

The Revs saw a €4 million bid for the 27-year-old accepted but despite Liege's willingness to sell the player, he has not come to terms with the MLS side. 

With the MLS spring transfer window expiring on Tuesday, it appears the deal is off for the time being. 

Brighton leading chase for Chelsea's James


Brighton are leading the reace to sign Chelsea right-back Reece James, according to The Sun. 

James was named to the Championship team of the year for his excellent displays while on loan with Wigan this season. 

Chelsea are prepared to sell the 19-year-old, and have already rejected an initial bid of £10 million ($13m) from Brighton.

FC Cincinnati fires Alan Koch


FC Cincinnati has fired manager Alan Koch just 11 games into the club's expansion season. 

The club has posted a 2-7-2 record in its inaugural campaign in MLS, with the team scoreless over the course of a current five-game losing streak.

Real Madrid are exploring several options for unwanted winger Gareth Bale, including terminating his contract, reports Marca

Zinedine Zidane is desperate to be rid of the Welshman, but his massive salary of €17 million (£15m/$19m) per year is making it difficult to find any suitors. 

Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Tottenham have been mentioned as possible destinations for Bale but thus far, Madrid have not received any offers.

Arsenal to appoint Edu as new technical director


Arsenal have agreed a deal to name Edu the club's new technical director, Goal understands. 

Edu, 40, who played for the Gunners between 2001 and 2005, has been serving as the general co-ordinator for the Brazil national team.

Chelsea set to decide on future of Mount and Tomori


Chelsea are planning a meeting next week to decide the future of Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori, reports The Sun. 

Mount, 20, and Tomori, 21, starred on loan at Derby this season, with Tomori named the club's player of the season. 

Both players will return to Chelsea in the summer, and the Blues are set to decide whether they will feature in the first team in 2019-20 or head back out on loan. 

Sarri to be offered Roma job


Roma have offered their managerial position to Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, Goal understands. 

The Serie A side were turned down by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, and have turned their attention instead toward the club's current manager.

Arsenal are monitoring Sao Paolo forward Antony, according to Yahoo! Esportes. 

The 19-year-old is on the radar of a host of European sides, including Ajax, Monaco, PSV and Lyon

Antony is believed to be available for around £21 million (€25m/$27m).

Izaguirre wants Celtic exit and MLS move


Emilio Izaguirre has been offered a new one-year contract at Celtic but he wants to leave Parkhead and make a move to MLS, reports the Daily Record.

The Honduran full-back has spent nine years in Scotland and is looking to return closer to home at the age of 32.

He has said on his future: "Celtic have offered me another one-year deal on my contract. I hope something comes up in the MLS for me. That's the wish of me and my wife."

Real Madrid frustrated in Hazard pursuit


Real Madrid have been left frustrated by the lack of progress over a deal for Chelsea's Eden Hazard, says the Evening Standard.

The Belgium international has long been linked with the exit door at Stamford Bridge and both clubs have reportedly been talking over a move for a month.

However, Los Blancos have not yet been able to move the Blues on the exchange, leaving them vexed.

Norwich starlets warned off Man Utd & Spurs


Ben Godfrey and Max Aarons haven been urged to shun any interest shown from Manchester UnitedLiverpool and Tottenham, with Tim Krul telling them to prove a point in the Premier League with Norwich.

The Dutch goalkeeper has said: "We all know when the big money is going to be offered, heads are going to get turned. But if Manchester United come in at 19 or 20 years old, there is no point sitting on the bench."

FC Twente sack title-winning manager


FC Twente have sacked their manager Marino Pusic only weeks after they lifted the Eerste Divisie crown, the club has confirmed.

The 47-year-old joined the Dutch side in 2015 and helped them secure a return to the top flight this season.

"The club and Marino are not on the same line regarding the football philosophy and its implementation," technical director Ted van Leeuwen said in a statement.

Lopetegui, Ten Hag in frame for Bayern


Bayern Munich have narrowed their hunt for a new head coach down to former Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui and Ajax's Erik ten Hag, says Marca.

The Bavarian giants sit four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga with two games to go, but are still thought to want to offload current coach Niko Kovac following his debut season.

Lopetegui has been out of work since last year after he was given the boot by Los Blancos, who he took charge of from Zinedine Zidane, now back at the helm.
