FC Ifeanyi Ubah coach Ladan Bosso has heaped praise on his wards for their solid performance that saw them play out a 1-1 draw Enyimba at the UJ Esuene Stadium on Thursday.
Having resumed the second stanza on the high after a 2-1 triumph over Go Round, the Anambra Warriors were aiming to build on their form with a positive result against the People Elephants.
The visitors were destined to earn their first away win this season after Pascal Seka put them ahead two minutes from half-time, but Ibrahim Mustapha's 61st-minute strike halted their quest.
And the former El Kanemi Warriors boss, who feels satisfied by his side's showing in Calabar opened up on his tactical plan to cage the country's sole Caf competition campaigners.
"Well, first of all, I was to appreciate the resilience put up by my boys," Bosso told media.
"We really worked hard for this match knowing that we had two-three away matches ahead of us. We never wanted to relax because we do not know what will happen in our next match.
"No matter what we've done, we planned for everything. We had wanted to start with two central defenders at the beginning of the match and we thought if we do that - the bench will be paralyzed.
"After we watched consciously the first half, we felt we were already leading and looked at how we could manage the lead. We brought out an attacking midfielder who was complaining of an injury and replaced him with a central defender which really worked out for us in the end."
With the draw, FC Ifeanyi Ubah climbed to 10th on the log with 27 points from 20 games this season and would trip to Damaturu to battle Yobe Desert Stars on Sunday.
