John Mark Makwata was on target, but his first half effort was not enough to aid Buildcon past Kitwe United in a Zambian Premier League match.

The Kenyan international struck in the 16th minute, but Kitwe equalized in the second half, in a match that left another Kenyan International Clifton Miheso nursing an injury picked late in the second half.

The former Golden Arrows and AFC Leopards forward, Miheso came close to doubling Buildcon advantage in the 33rd minute after connecting a Brian Mwila cross, but his tap towards the goal was saved by Kitwe United goalkeeper.

The speedy winger was, however pulled out in the 70th minute with what looked like a serious injury from a careless challenge by a Kitwe United player who earned a straight red in the process.

The draw left Buildcon with only 12 points from 11 matches and 10 adrift of leaders Zesco United.

Zesco who were not involved in the domestic competition this weekend, are leading the table with 22 points after nine matches.
