National Super League side KCB is on the verge of making a return to the Kenyan Premier League after three seasons in the lower tier.

The Bankers are currently placed second on the log with 72 points and will need three more points to seal their automatic return to the top tier.

Caretaker coach Elvis Ayany says this time around the team will not bottle up like last season, and that it will go all the way.

"We are determined to get a promotion to the KPL this season, and we are very close in realizing our objectives. Last season we slipped in a critical stage and never recovered, we realized our mistakes and learnt the lesson. It will not be the same again.

"No underrating any team, we want to treat each game as a final and take maximum points; we will celebrate when our promotion is confirmed."

There are two rounds in the NSL matches still left to the end of the season. Only Western Stima have earned their promotion back to the Kenyan Premier League so far.

Two slots, an automatic place for second-placed and a playoff berth await the second runners-up against the side that will finish 16th in the KPL to complete the promotion journey.
