Goal takes a look at the seven overseas players signed by Kerala Blasters ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League...

With the fifth edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) fast approaching, the 10 teams have been busy finalising their rosters. With less than a month to go for the new season to kick-off, we take a look at how the teams have shaped up with respect to their overseas signings.

Here, we take a look at the seven foreigners who will turn out for the Kochi-based side.

The 1.92m tall central defender from Serbia continues with Kerala Blasters after featuring in 12 matches last season in the ISL. The 27-year-old can play as a left-back as well and will be a versatile option for David James.

The 34-year-old French centre-back comes to Kochi from Greek side Apollon Pontou. He has spent most of his career in Greece and this will be first stint in Asia. He has been named as a vice-captain of the side and will look to lend his experience to the team.

The young Ugandan midfielder joined Kerala Blasters during the January transfer window last season and impressed in the handful of appearances he had before suffering an injury. Provided he can stay fit, the Blasters fans will expect a lot from the 21-year-old this time around.

The lack of a solid midfielder was a concern for Kerala Blasters last season and the Serbian midfielder is expected to address those. The 26-year-old has spent his career at Greece, Serbia, Sweden and Faroe Islands and now makes his foray to India

The Ghanaian attacking midfielder was an ever-present figure for the Kerala Blasters last season. Though the team failed to qualify for the play-offs, Pekuson's energetic displays did catch the eye. The fans will be hoping the 23-year-old kicks on a level or two this season.

Adding to the Serbian contingent at Blasters is 29-year-old striker Slavisa Stojanovic. He comes from Serbian club Radnicki Nis where he scored 10 goals in 31 league appearances. He has unenviable task of replacing Iain Hume up front for the Blasters.

Slovenian striker Matej Poplatnik completes the foreign contingent for Kerala Blasters this season. He moves to Kochi from Slovenian club Triglav where he had a prolific scoring record.
