Nasarawa United chairman, Isaac Danladi has implored his players to double up their effort to ensure that the Solid Miners finish the current league season impressively to stave off relegation worries.
Despite presently placed 12th with 29 points from 24 games in the league log Kabiru Dogo’s men are only a point away from the drop zone and Danladi has challenged the players and coaches to show their allegiance to the club in the remaining matches of the season.
The administrator disclosed that having reviewed the team performances in the first round and few of the games they have played in the second round he deemed it necessary to engage the players and coaches in a short deliberation to chart the way forward.
“We all know that we are not comfortable in the league table at all and that we must work harder to ensure that we spend another season in the premier league at the end of the current season,” Danladi told Goal.
“I told the players and coaches that we must approach our remaining matches starting with the away tie against Enugu Rangers with utmost seriousness. We can see for ourselves that the teams from 12th to the 19th position are only separated by a point and what we must do in the remaining games is to secure enough results that will take us further away from the relegation zone.
“It won’t be any task because other teams will also be anxious to record impressive results. The remaining matches especially the one after the World Cup against Enugu Rangers is a game we must aspire to secure a positive result. We have to have a massive improvement in our away performances so that we don‘t solely rely on home matches alone for points.
He assures the players and the technical crew that the management is striving to liaise with the Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Al-Makura for a better welfare package and that the gesture could be sped up with improved performances in their next few matches.
“We are doing everything to make the players and the coaches happy and presently we are working on improving their welfare package,” Danladi continued.
“I have told the players that they must do the needful which is to ensure that we regain our rightful place in the league table. We know they can do it and it is the reason we believe so much in them. The coaches too are doing their best and we are willing to complement their effort.”
