Heartland relegation woes deepen after Enyimba draw

The Naze Millionaires were held at home by the People’s Elephant as they remain at the base of the Nigeria topflight log

Heartland all but lost their battle for survival as they drew 0-0 with Enyimba at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

The hosts were hoping for a victory at home to move out of the log’s base but they found were unable to get past the visitors who were resolute at the rear.

Theophilus Afelokhai shown like a star has he made some crucial saves to deny his opponents a positive outcome.

First, he kept out Zeidine Ahimeye header in the 10th minute before stopping Uche Oguchi's freekick in the 23rd minute of the crunch tie.

 The Owerri could have gotten the curtain raiser through Abiodun Thompson by Afelokhai was very positioned to make a wonderful save.

Enyimba's best chance came in the 70th minute but Joseph Osadiaye failed to stab home Chukwudi Oparaugo's pass.

Despite their consistent pouring attack, Heartland failed in their bid to get the much-needed victory as the game ended on a no winner, no vanquished state.

They remain at the base of the log with 20 points from 24 outing, while Paul Aigbogun’ men climbed to fourth with 38 games from the same number of games.
