The Black Stars forward is confident the Reds can mount a credible challenge to clinch the top-flight after a successful pre-season

Ghana striker Edwin Gyasi has tipped CSKA Sofia to win the Bulgarian First Professional League which kicks off in few weeks.

The Army Men finished second last season behind Ludogorets Razgrad, but have intensified preparations for the new campaign, with a preseason tour to Austria.

"We can win the league title in Bulgaria. That's one of the main reasons why I'm here," Gyasi told his club's website.

"I hope we will achieve it at the end of the season and time will show if I can be a key figure for CSKA Sofia or not. I'm waiting for the season with impatience. I can say we're ready for the new championship, but we have to show it on the pitch," he said.

"We showed the strong controls when we played in Austria. What we are working on now is how we want the team to look. I'm optimistic for next year, but we need to build on it permanently."

"I feel very well with the ongoing pre-season. The preparations have been hard but that is good for the team. Unfortunately, when Stamen Belchev was the head of the team, I missed the preliminary training and lacked several things tactically as compared to my colleagues," he added.

Gyasi joined Sofia from Norwegian second-tier outfit FK Aalesund in January, scoring one goal in ten games.
