Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Gyamfi was full of praise for the supporters after their 1-0 victory over debutants Elmina Sharks on matchday five of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday
The 23-year-old had already earned crucial wins over Liberty Professionals, Ashanti Gold and Bechem United in the opening four matches of the season and showed his class once more against Sharks when the game was heading to a stalemate.
He scored the only goal with the last kick of the game and was clearly overjoyed after their performance, insisting that the win was for the fans.
"I dedicate the goal and victory to the supporters because even when everything was pointing to a draw, they believed we can win with the last kick. I thank them for the support," Gyamfi told Goal.
''The supporters helped me to score the goal because they were still cheering us every minute in the game and it is one thing I appreciate. They are the best supporters in the world and I hope they will continue like this throughout the season.
He added: "Our next game is against Bolga All Stars in Tamale and I'm confident that we will return to Kumasi with victory. Tamale hasn't been favourable to Kotoko in the past but I had good memories there while I was with Wa All Stars. Since we want to lift the league title, we we need to try and win every game and I will do my best."
Kotoko are second on the log, tied with leaders Aduana on 13 points. They will host Wafa upper week before the Super Clash against Hearts of Oak in Accra.
