Masoud Juma grabbed a brace as Kariobangi Sharks sailed to the quarters of Gotv Shield at the expense of Sofapaka in a 3-1 win on Saturday.

Sharks were the first to test Sofapaka with only two minutes into the game after Kamau delivered a cross from the right wing but Christopher Kimathi's header was too weak to trouble George Opiyo in goal.

Kimathi, who replaced Patillah Omoto in the midfield, picked a yellow card in the sixth minute after he pulled an opponent as he tried to gain possession of the ball as Sharks pressed on.

Michale Bobo picked Sharks’second yellow card of the match in the 16th minute but the Kariobangi side responded to the blow with former Sofapaka midfielder, Elli Asieche and Tayo combining to release Masoud, who failed to pull the trigger with the ball being intercepted.

Sofapaka got two quick chances in the 38th and 40th minutes but Robert Mboya was awake as the hosts continued to threaten upfront. But it was Sharks, who took the lead two minute to the break through Kamau, who perfectly lifted the ball past Opiyo, who had come off his line to clear the ball.

The victors would double their lead in the 52nd minute when Kamau, looped in a long pass to Masoud, who beat Opiyo. Umaru Kasumba was presented with a chance to cut Sharks’ lead but he sent his effort wide despite rounding off the goalkeeper.

Masoud would later complete his brace seven minutes to the whistle after he was fed by substitute Ibrahim KitawiSofapaka responded three minutes later with a consolation, but it was too late for them with time running out.
