Ghana’s Atsu on target in Newcastle United win over Wolfsburg

Ghana international, Christian Atsu was on target as Newcastle recorded a 3-1 victory over Wolfsburg in Wednesday pre-season friendly.

The forward found the back of the net in the 68th minute to power Rafael Benítez’s men to a win against the German side.

Serbia international, Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the curtain raiser just immediately after the half-hour mark.

Matt Ritchie compounded the woes of Andries Jonker’s side when he found the back of the net before the break.

German-born Turkish footballer, Yunus Malli found his way past the defenders as he notched the consolidation goal

Atsu took the game beyond the reach of the Volkswagen Arena giants with his strike in the 68thh minutes.

Newcastle will continue their build-up for the English topflight having gained promotion last season when they lock locks with Italia’s outfit Hellas Verona on Saturday.
