The Premier Soccer League (PSL) action will resume on Friday and Goal previews two matches

An in-form Cape Town City side will lock horns with Polokwane City in the Mother City.

The Citizens secured their third win in four league matches when they defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 at home last weekend.

The victory took City to third position on the PSL standings and they are only a point behind second-placed Orlando Pirates.

Benni McCarthy, Cape Town City

Benni McCarthy will look to guide City to victory over Polokwane which would take his side to the second spot - a point behind leaders, Sundowns.

They will face a Polokwane side which is currently enjoying a five-match unbeaten run in the league having defeated Golden Arrows 2-0 at home last weekend.

Rise and Shine are placed sixth on the league standings and they are three points behind third-placed Cape Town City.

A victory for Polokwane over City will see Jozef Vukusic's side move closer to the pace-setters in the race for this season's PSL title.

Cape Town City defeated Polokwane City 2-1 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in the first round league clash earlier this season.

Meanwhile, an unpredictable Bloemfontein Celtic side will host Bidvest Wits in the Free State Stars.

Siwelele recorded their third draw in their last four league matches when they drew 0-0 with Orlando Pirates away last weekend.

Celtic are placed eighth on the league standings and they are only a point ahead of Highlands Park, who are currently placed ninth on the log.

Lehlohonolo Seema, Bloemfontein Celtic

Lehlohonolo Seema will be eager to lead Celtic to victory over Wits which would see his side cement a spot in the top eight.

They will take on a wounded Wits side as the PSL title contenders are winless in their last four games having lost 2-0 to AmaZulu FC away last weekend.

As a result, the Clever Boys are placed fourth on the league standings and they are two points behind second-placed Pirates.
