EXTRA TIME: Watch Teko Modise discuss PSL's player of the season awards

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder and living legend Teko Modise had his say on the annual award nominations

The former PSL Footballer of the Season, Modise stated the following to the media: “We have seen some quality football this season. The Footballer of the Season category is really interesting – you have guys with different strengths and I think it can go to any of them. It’s a special award – because it means you are being recognised for being the best in that season. We have the coaches voting for the winner here – so it should be very interest.”

Mamelodi Sundowns players Hlompho Kekana and Percy Tau have been nominated together with Maritzburg United midfielder Siphesihle Ndovu for the Footballer of the Season award.

For the Absa Premiership Coach of the Season, Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredjoevic was named with Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids and Mamelodi Sundown’s Pitso Mosimane.

There was an outcry from many PSL fans asking why Luc Eymael wasn't nominated. His Free State Stars team finished sixth in the PSL and he also lifted the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.

Eymael responded to his fans directly on Twitter, as you can see below.

The PSL Awards will be held on May 29.
