West Ham manager David Moyes dismissed reports that Premier League champions Chelsea have made contact in their pursuit of striker Andy Carroll.

Goal understands that Chelsea are aiming to secure Carroll on a permanent deal  and are stalling on a loan deal for Michy Batshuayi until a transfer can be completed

However, West Ham boss Moyes says he is unaware of Chelsea's interest in the 29-year-old, who has scored twice in the Premier League this season.

"They have not made contact with me, so if they have made contact with someone else I don't know about it," Moyes said following Tuesday's 1-0 win over Shrewsbury in the FA Cup.

"At the moment Andy Carroll is one of my squad, I want to add to the squad, not lose players.

"I know nothing about it. There have been a lot of rumours regarding a loan but as far as I know it has never officially come from Chelsea. I am not keen to lose any players, I am more keen to add to the squad.

"At the moment Andy has an ankle injury so we are hoping that will settle quickly and he will be back training shortly."

The 29-year-old has emerged as a target to give Chelsea more depth at centre-forward, the club having missed out on the season's first choice Fernando Llorente in a summer transfer deadline day battle with Tottenham

Chelsea were also linked with a late swoop for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez after Manchester City pulled out of the race to sign the Chilean, but Blues boss Antonio Conte poured cold water on those links on Tuesday

“Now, this is not important to talk about Sanchez. Not important. Because he's not our problem, so why do I have to waste words on nothing," he told reporters.

Chelsea currently sit fourth in the Premier League, with Tottenham just three points back in the fight for the Champions League places.

The Blues also continue to face a heavy fixture list, with the club still in the running in the league cup, FA Cup, Champions League and Premier League.
