It marked the Bhoys' 38th and final match without a defeat in the league this season, making them the first team to go undefeated in Scotland’s top flight since Rangers achieved the same feat back in the 1898-99 season.

During that campaign, the Gers enjoyed a perfect record in the league, though they played only 18 fixtures.

Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic, meanwhile, won 34 of their 38 matches in the Premiership this term, dropping points only against Inverness, Rangers, Partick Thistle and Ross County.

However, they have the opportunity to negotiate the entire domestic campaign undefeated, something the Gers failed to do in that historic campaign, as they lost the Scottish Cup final to their Old Firm rivals 2-0.

Celtic face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden next weekend to try to round off a memorable campaign by securing the treble.
