Camaldine Abraw unaware of Kaizer Chiefs axing

Outgoing Kaizer Chiefs striker Camaldine Abraw is reportedly unaware that the club have decided to offload him.

Amakhosi announced that  Abraw, Siyanda Xulu, Lucky Baloyi and Lewis Macha will leave the Naturena-based side after the club decided to terminate their contracts by mutual consent a week ago.

However, The Citizen source claims that Togo international Abraw is unaware that Chiefs will let him go.

“Abraw is on holiday in Europe,"  the source told Phakaaathi.

The 26-year-old striker did not play for Amakhosi during the season 2016/17 campaign as he was out nursing a long-term injury.

"Chiefs did not tell him prior to leaving that he will be released and no one from the club has contacted him yet, so he is in the dark,” the source said.

“He was looking forward to contributing to the club’s success next season, and the news about his release has really caught him by surprise," the source added.

"But like I said, Chiefs have not contacted him yet, so he will report for preseason and take it from there,” the source concluded.
