The former Ghana youth star has revealed how he reacted to his to move to Major League Soccer early this year

Former Liberty Professionals midfielder Latif Blessing has revealed that he cried for several nights after arriving in the United States to complete his move to Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City in January this year.

The 20-year-old was a reject at Asante Kotoko in 2014 but found his footing two years later with the Scientific Soccer Lads, subsequently landing an MLS deal after finishing as Ghana Premier League topscorer in 2016.

“The first day I arrived in the United States, I wept,” Blessing said.

"I wept after every training session because I couldn't imagine myself playing in such an environment. I never expected it but today look at what God has done for me.

"I'm so grateful for how far He has brought me. When I stepped onto the pitch today, my teammates called me 'maestro', so if God has blessed you, let the world know. I will urge all Ghanaian footballers to put their talent aside, as that alone cannot take them far. It is all about humility, discipline and having the favour of God," he added.

Blessing has had a successful debut season in MLS, making 23 appearances, including 15 starts and scoring three goals.
