Barcelona confirm Aleix Vidal departure amid imminent Sevilla move

Aleix Vidal has left Barcelona's USA training camp to finalise a transfer amid a likely switch to Sevilla.

The winger and full-back is expected to seal a €9 million (£8m/$10m) return to the club he joined Barca from in 2015.

Although he was part of the first-team for Wednesday's 4-2 defeat to Roma in the International Champions Cup in Texas, he has been unable to land a regular starting spot at Camp Nou and made 51 competitive appearances in three years.

And Barca have confirmed he has featured for the last time for the Blaugrana.

"Aleix Vidal is travelling to Barcelona today with permission from the club to settle his future," a tweet from the club's official account read.

The 28-year-old spent just one season with Sevilla before leaving for Barca, but had been a key part of a team that won the UEFA Super Cup and Europa League.

He returns to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan with two La Liga and three Copa del Rey winners' medals to his name.

Vidal's departure will be the second piece of business conducted between Barca and Sevilla, as Clement Lenglet went the other way in a €35.9 million (£31.7m/$41.9m) move.

Barcelona confirmed the latest just hours after announcing the signing of midfielder Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich.

The Catalan side have also signed Malcom from Bordeaux and sped up the arrival of Arthur from Gremio.
