Socceroos striker Jamie Maclaren is set to depart German club Darmstadt and there's no shortage of interest in the 24-year-old.

While Scottish side Hibernian are keen to sign Maclaren after a successful loan last season, A-League sides Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC have seemingly thrown their hats in the ring too.

According to The World Game, both clubs are ready to offer the former Brisbane Roar and Perth Glory attacker a marquee deal to lure him back to Australia.

A return to the competition however seems unlikely with Maclaren eager to prove himself in Europe and in the process secure his spot in the Socceroos Asian Cup squad.

Maclaren has previously stated the English Championship could be an ideal destination for him as he looks to follow in the footsteps of a number of Australians that have excelled in the league.

Australian defender Milos Degenek has secured a dream move to Serbian side Red Star Belgrade from Japanese club Yokohama F.Marinos.

Degenek put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the club and has a clear idea of what he wants to achieve with the Serbian giants.

"I want to realise my dream, the dream of the club, but above all the dream of our great army of fans and play in the Champions League," Degenek said.

Degenek's move came just hours before fellow Socceroos defender Mark Milligan was released by Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli after the expiry of his contract.

Milligan had moved to the club on a million-dollar deal from Melbourne Victory but is a now a free agent with the 32-year-old already weighing up his international future.

Adrian Mierzejewski close to lucrative China move

Sydney FC star Adrian Mierzejewski's future with the Sky Blues now looks all but over with reports the Polish winger is close to a deal with Chinese side Changchun Yatai.

The World Game reports that the reigning Johnny Warren medalist will net Sydney FC $1.3 million should he complete the move with Mierzejewski not satisfied with the money the Sky Blues were offering him.

His departure is set to coincide with key striker Bobo's exit too, with an $800,000 move to Turkey reportedly agreed to.

While two big losses for Steve Corica's side, the surplus of money should help them rebuild in time for the new season.
