The MTN8 tournament will go ahead as scheduled after the South Gauteng High Court struck the case off the roll with costs

AmaZulu have lost their case to force the court to stop the start of the MTN8 tournament.

The Durban-based outfit finished last season in the top eight bracket only to slip to position nine following Advocate William Mokhari's ruling that Ajax Cape Town be docked points for fielding Tendai Ndoro.

Mokhari's ruling saw SuperSport United move above AmaZulu and in the top 8 as Ajax were relegated to the National First Division.

On Tuesday, Usuthu approached the South Gauteng High Court demanding that the MTN8 be halted until they are included in the competition.

Judge Denise Fisher granted both parties the chance to present their cases, and reserved her judgment for Wednesday.

Fisher then struck the case off the roll with costs, meaning the MTN8 tournament will get underway as scheduled.
