Nigeria U20 women played out a 1-1 draw against the U15 side of Super Lion in a local friendly at the Fifa Goal Project pitch, Abuja.
Rasheedat Ajibade's goal helped the Falconets avoid defeat as she cancelled out Chukwunoma Osaranome's opener for the Abuja-based boys.
Osaranome opened the scoring in the 26th minute after he latched home a beautiful pass from a set-piece following a defensive blunder from Christopher Danjuma's ladies.
Ajibade almost pulled the women side back on level terms moments later but her effort hit the woodwork.
However, the FC Robo forward found a breakthrough as she made a calm finish off a superb cross from substitute Charity Rueben, who replaced Anam Imo in the 30th minute.
On the brink of half-time, the 18-year-old almost put her side in front after Rueben put her through but she was yet again denied by the crossbar.
In the second half, both sides missed several scoring chances as Monday Gift missing a seater, while the male youth side fought late before settling for a draw.
After Sunday's draw, the Falconets are expected to jet out of the country during the week as they hope for victory in the final round, first leg against South Africa.
The two-leg encounters will produce one of the three teams to represent Africa at the Fifa U20 Women's World Cup in France in August later this year.
