Commentary

Thank you for joining our coverage, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye.
Southampton have a daunting trip to the Etihad Stadium to play Manchester City next, while West Ham travel to face Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League in midweek before hosting Manchester United next weekend.
There goes the full-time whistle! Neither side played to their full potential for much of the game but the introduction of Broja brought Southampton to life, with the youngster striking the post and seeing a header cleared off the line in the final 15 minutes. Antonio was shown a second yellow card for a late challenge on Djenepo deep into stoppage time, but it was too late to aid Southampton. It finishes 0-0 at St Mary's.
90' + 6' FULL-TIME: SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 WEST HAM UNITED
90' + 5' Antonio is off! He slides in a little late on Djenepo and, despite attempting to pull out somewhat, still goes in high and is shown a second yellow card and sent off!
M. Salisu
Yellow Card
90' + 2' Salisu goes into the book for barging Vlasic over as he led a swift West Ham counter-attack.
90' + 2' OFF THE LINE! Broja meets Ward-Prowse's left-wing corner in the six-yard box and his downward header flies past Fabianski, but Rice is there to clear it off the line!
90' Thankfully, Ogbonna appears to be okay after some treatment and is able to carry on. West Ham have men back now as the game is restarted.
88' The Southampton players are furious as the referee blows his whistle in the middle of a promising attack, but Ogbonna is down with a head injury and the official had no choice but to halt the game. The West Ham defender is being seen to after clashing heads with Broja.
86' BLOCK! Livramento does well to stay onside before whipping a dangerous ball towards the penalty spot that Elyounoussi meets, but Coufal throws himself in the way to deflect it behind for a corner!
84' WIDE! Yarmolenko is fed in a promising position on the edge of the box less than a minute after coming on, but his first-time effort has too much power and is whipped high and wide!
A. Yarmolenko
J. Bowen
83' Moyes makes a change as he continues to search for a winning goal, with Bowen - who put a real shift in - replaced by Yarmolenko on the right wing.
81' POST! Broja bursts forward with intent and shifts the ball inside, then out before smacking a ferocious low effort towards the bottom-left corner that clatters back off the post!
80' The ball is swept out to Djenepo on the left and he races to the byline, before attempting to work it into the middle, but he runs out of space and it goes behind for a goal-kick.
78' Broja does brilliantly to burst past Ogbonna, showing off his searing pace as he drives in behind before crossing low towards Elyounoussi, arriving at the back post, but it's just cut out.
76' Bowen rolls his man superbly in the box and lofts the ball into the middle, but Stephens heads it behind for a corner, which McCarthy claims authoritatively.
A. Broja
A. Armstrong
74' Hasnehuttl makes another change as he searches for a winning goal. Armstrong goes off up front after an afternoon of minimal service and is replaced by Broja.
D. Rice
Yellow Card
73' Rice follows Antonio into the book now after a poor challenge on Livramento. This game is getting scrappy.
M. Antonio
Yellow Card
71' Antonio is shown a yellow card immediately afterwards for his part in proceedings.
J. Stephens
Yellow Card
71' Stephens and Antonio's physical battle turns into something more closely resembling a wrestling match. The referee isn't pleased with either and the Southampton defender is the first man to receive a booking.
69' West Ham have been guilty of their fair share of loose passes, too, particularly in the final third. There has been a surprising lack of quality on display from both sides so far.
67' Southampton can't seem to help themselves but give the ball away since half-time. There's been a catalogue of misplaced passes from the hosts.
65' BLOCK! Vlasic is involved almost straight away, bursting down the left and crossing low towards the near post for Antonio, but the striker's effort is blocked at point-blank range.
N. Vlašić
S. Benrahma
63' Moyes makes his first change of the afternoon, bringing Benrahma off and handing Vlasic his debut - and the chance to mark it with a winning goal.
61' WIDE! Perraud hits the byline down the left and clips a cross towards the near post that Armstrong meets six yards out, but he's moving away from goal and can only nod wide!
58' Southampton have been sloppy since the restart but West Ham have yet to punish the hosts. The Hammers look a little sluggish themselves.
56' OVER! The ball is whipped into the middle from the right and Soucek is the target once again, but the midfielder jumps a little too early and can only nod over the bar as a result!
I. Diallo
Oriol Romeu
53' Hasenhuttl makes a change early in the second half, replacing the booked Romeu with Diallo in midfield.
52' CHANCE! Southampton waste a glorious chance as they hit West Ham on the break down the right and Redmond is then played into acres of space, but he dallies in possession and the visitors scramble men back before he takes the shot, which is blocked. His follow-up effort is then smashed wildly off-target from an acute angle. Poor decision-making there.
51' BLOCK! Benrahma forces a corner and it's aimed at Soucek in the middle, who gets his head to the delivery and glances it across goal, but it's blocked by Salisu!
49' Ward-Prowse whips a dangerous corner into the box that Elyounoussi meets at the near post, but his flick-on is claimed comfortably by Fabianski.
47' SAVE! Romeu gives the ball away very cheaply in the attacking third and Fornals launches a counter-attack with a ball over the top for Benrahma to chase. The Algerian gets to the edge of the box and backheels for Antonio, who easily beats Djenepo and thumps a low effort towards the bottom-right corner, but McCarthy gets down to make the save!
46' We're back underway for the second half!
West Ham saw more of the ball in the first 45 minutes, but most of it came in safe areas and Moyes will demand far more from a side that scored 10 goals in three games before today. Southampton, meanwhile, will feel they have edged the first half, but Hasenhuttl will also see plenty of room for improvement.
There goes the half-time whistle! Neither side was truly able to establish dominance in a cagey half that featured just one shot on target - which came through Armstrong in the third minute. Southampton had the better chances, but were unable to convert. It remains 0-0 at the break.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 WEST HAM UNITED
44' Perraud is starting to get forward more frequently from left-back for Southampton and he's causing plenty of problems with his overlapping runs and sharp deliveries.
42' West Ham are really struggling for incision in the final third. Whenever they have the ball, they look comfortable enough in their own half, but can't seem to penetrate and get into dangerous areas.
40' After a period of West Ham possession, Southampton have got themselves back on the ball and seem to have momentarily regained the upper hand in proceedings. It has been tight so far.
38' OVER! Perraud delivers a teasing ball from the left that is just ahead of Elyounoussi in the box and forces a corner. It's half-cleared to Djenepo on the left side of the area and he tries to smack a half-volley in, but he gets under the ball and sends it over!
36' West Ham get themselves out of a tight spot at the back and Bowen looks to lead a breakaway down the line, but Perraud slides in and cynically scythes him down. Remarkably, no yellow card is produced.
34' West Ham are enjoying a spell of possession now and a few quick interchanges sees the ball slipped towards the box for Antonio to chase. He goes down as he gets into the area and collides with the covering defenders, but no foul was committed.
32' Bowen drives down the left and wins a corner off Stephens. The set-piece is cleared but comes back in from the same side and is aimed at Antonio, arriving at the back post, but McCarthy comes off his line to claim it.
29' The visitors are starting to grow into the game after a quiet spell and have forced Southampton back into their half now.
27' West Ham have been very flat in this first half so far. Aside from that opportunity from the free-kick, they've hardly given the Southampton defence anything to think about and have yet to test McCarthy in any way.
25' The flow of the game is still a little choppy, but Southampton have been more threatening in their build-up so far. They look the more likely side to open the scoring at this stage.
23' SAVE! Livramento takes on an ambitious effort, attempting to hit a dipping strike over Fabianski and into the far corner from distance. Despite the unlikely range, however, the shot nearly catches the West Ham goalkeeper out and he very nearly carries it over the line after catching it!
21' BLOCK! Djenepo is fed on the left and he checks into the box, darting inside before curling towards the top-right corner, but Dawson bravely heads the effort over the bar!
19' The game has been a little scrappy over the last five minutes or so. Neither side has looked able to progress through midfield in this spell.
17' Neither side has been able to keep the ball for an extended spell and control the game in possession. Both sides have been guilty of giving it away a little cheaply on occasion.
14' OVER! Cresswell steps up to take the free-kick and his initial effort clatters off the wall and comes back to him, but the left-back's follow-up effort on his weaker right foot ends up smashed wildly over the bar.
Oriol Romeu
Yellow Card
13' Benrahma drives towards the edge of the box and Romeu slides in from behind, catching the Algerian on the ankle and earning himself an early yellow card as well as conceding a free-kick in a dangerous area.
11' Bowen is released down the right as West Ham counter into space, but the winger's low ball towards Antonio in the box is cut out and Southampton have it back.
9' Armstrong charges Fabianski down as West Ham are forced backwards under the hosts' relentless pressure and nearly gets there in time, but the Hammers goalkeeper just manages to hack the ball clear.
7' The hosts look assertive and are pressing with great intensity when they lose the ball, making it difficult for West Ham to get out of their half.
5' Southampton have started well and build a dangerous attack down the left, but it's hacked away as the low ball comes into the box.
3' SAVE! Redmond slips the ball through to Armstrong, who races onto it and lashes at goal from just inside the area, but Fabianski gets down to make the save!
1' We're underway at St Mary's!

Winston Reid is the only member of the squad struggling with injury, while Zouma and Vlasic are named in the squad for the first time since arriving from Chelsea and CSKA Moscow, respectively.
Southampton head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl makes two changes following his side's 2-2 draw with Newcastle United last time out.
