Liverpool are next in action against Chelsea next Saturday in the Premier League on home soil. Burnley face Newcastle United next week in the second round of the EFL Cup on the road.
Liverpool secure their second win on the bounce at the start of the Premier League campaign after beating Burnley 2-0 at Anfield. Diogo Jota opened the scoring in the first half before Sadio Mane made sure of the three points in the second period. Mohamed Salah had a goal disallowed by VAR for offside, while Ashley Barnes also had an effort chalked off for the visitors in an entertaining game to kick off the weekend.

17' Burnley probe down the left, but Wood sees a header from a low cross from McNeil saved by Alisson. The winger then surges into the box and goes down under pressure from Alexander-Arnold, but is told to get to his feet.
14' Burnley clear their lines from a couple of Liverpool crosses before Alexander-Arnold tests Pope with a hanging cross on his left foot to the back post. However, the keeper comes off his line and makes a confident claim ahead of Van Dijk.

Liverpool lost 1-0 at home against Burnley in the Premier League last season, ending their 68-match unbeaten league run at Anfield. The Clarets last won consecutive away league matches against Liverpool in their first two attempts back in the 1894-95 and 1896-97 seasons.
Burnley have made two changes to their side from their defeat against Brighton. Rodriguez drops to the bench and is replaced in the final third by Barnes. Brownhill slots into the middle of the park to replace Ashley Westwood, who misses out with a toe injury. Burnley are the first Premier League side to name a starting line-up with squad numbers 1-11 since Charlton Athletic's match against Southampton in the 1998/1999 season.
Elliott makes his first Premier League start for Liverpool this afternoon in the middle of the park.The 18-year-old is one of two changes from the win over Norwich last week. Henderson and Elliott slot into the midfield to replace James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Milner is out with a knock, while Oxlade-Chamberlain is absent to attend the birth of his child.

Burnley began their season with a 2-1 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion at Turf Moor last week. The Clarets did take the lead in the second minute through James Tarkowski, but second-half efforts from Neal Maupay and Alexis Mac Allister condemned Sean Dyche's men to an opening-day loss. They face a tough challenge to bounce back this afternoon, but their positive result at Anfield last term will give them hope.
Liverpool kicked off their campaign last week with a comfortable victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road. Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino found the net in a 3-0 win for the Reds.
